Injection Therapy

As more has been learned about the chemical and biological pattern of hair loss and hair growth, a group of compounds in our own bodies (called growth factors) are now known to play a key role. These growth factors can be harvested from your own blood and used to stimulate hair growth.

It’s like Miracle Grow™ for your hair. At Mississippi Hair Restoration, we offer Injection Therapy to strengthen hair and stimulate growth in areas that may be thinning.

Men and women lose hair for many reasons, and one of the primary factors is a weakening of the hair shafts within the follicle. These shafts of hair cannot survive the growth cycle and fall out before reaching adequate length.

“You can’t choose where you lose your hair or not, but you can make a choice to stop the hair loss. That’s where Mississippi Hair Restoration comes in.”

How It Works

We use a derivative of your blood that containing special growth factors that are used in the medical field for stimulating new muscle, nerves, veins and other tissues. In the realm of hair restoration, they help your body produce new and stronger hair shafts that survive the growth cycle.

When you come in for a consultation, we will talk about all treatment options and together we will determine if Injection Therapy is a good fit for you. You can expect hair loss to slow – and hair to even regrow – in a few months after therapy. We also combine injections with other treatments such as infra-red light therapy, grafting and medication. Your treatment plan is tailored to your needs.

The Injection Therapy Procedure

We begin the treatment by taking a small sample of your blood and processing it in a centrifuge to separate the blood components. The growth factors are located the layer at the top of the vial. We then pull it into a syringe and inject it into areas of the scalp where the hair is thin. Injection Therapy may be combined with other treatments.

What to Expect from Injection Therapy

As the hair grows, it becomes thicker and stronger than hair that grows without Injection therapy. Some of the hairs may fall out, and this is only an indication of the stage of growth rather than the efficacy of the treatment. Over time, you will notice the area slowly filling in with hair. The benefits of Injection Therapy in hair restoration is that the hair shafts grow in a pattern that looks and is completely natural.

Extreme balding in men and women may be treated with a combination of therapies.

For enhanced results, Micropigmentation can be added for a fuller appearance.

Procedures like FUE NeoGraft also work well on facial or body hair.

Why does this work?

The process of isolating growth factors involves drawing a blood sample and extracting only the grow agents. The resulting liquid contains the growth factors and is more concentrated than what your body produces on its own. This liquid is then injected into your scalp to promote hair growth and slow the rate of hair loss. It nourishes the hair follicles so the roots will be more efficient and work harder. The result is hair that grows faster and grows thicker.

How long does this take?

For most patients, we do a series of three injections one month apart. The growth factors work to rejuvenate your hair follicles and quickly begins to slow hair loss. Your hair follicles are invigorated, and the results can be maintained with one or two treatments a year.

What is the cost?

The cost for Injection Therapy is $695 for each treatment or $1,800 for the series of three treatments that is recommended. Insurance does not cover this procedure; so, we accept a check or credit cards, and a convenient payment plan is available.
